What stays on your device

Your creations, the prompts behind them, your settings and your credit balance are stored on your iPhone or iPad. We can’t see them. If you’re signed in to iCloud, your credit balance is also kept in your private iCloud storage so it follows you to your other devices; that data is held by Apple under your Apple Account, not by us.

What is sent, and why

Nothing is sent until you agree on the consent screen before your first creation. After that, when you tap Create, Whimsy sends to Oxen.ai:

• your prompt (the text you type);
• any photos, videos or audio you choose to add as references, which may include people’s faces;
• the options you picked, such as image or video, size and length.

This is used for two things only: to create your image or video, and to check the request and result for safety. It is never used for advertising and never sold. Requests are not linked to your name, email or any account, because Whimsy doesn’t have one.

Oxen.ai and its AI partners

Whimsy uses Oxen.ai, an independent AI service, to generate images and videos. Depending on the option you choose, Oxen.ai processes your request with models from its AI partners: OpenAI, Google, ByteDance, MiniMax and Alibaba. They receive what’s needed to make that one creation, under their agreements with Oxen.ai.

Faces

When you add a photo, Whimsy uses Apple’s on-device face detection to tell whether it shows a person, so it can use the right, face-safe processing path. This check runs entirely on your device. No face measurements or templates are created for or sent to anyone, and nothing about faces is used for marketing, advertising or analytics.

Purchases

Memberships and credit packs are bought through Apple’s App Store. Apple handles payment, and we never receive your card details, name or Apple Account. The app records which purchases have already added credits, on your device, so each one counts exactly once.

What we don’t collect

• No names, emails, phone numbers or contacts.
• No location.
• No advertising identifiers, and no tracking across apps or websites.
• No analytics or crash-reporting services.

When you contact us

If you email us, or use “Report a Problem” in the app (which opens an email), we receive your email address and whatever you include, such as the prompt you’re reporting. We use it only to reply and to keep Whimsy safe.

Your choices

• Delete any creation in the app, or delete the app to remove everything stored on the device.
• Choose “Not Now” on the consent screen and nothing will be sent.

Children

Whimsy isn’t intended for children under 13, and we don’t knowingly receive information from them.

This website

This site uses no cookies, analytics or third-party scripts, and its fonts are served from here. Our web host may keep standard server logs, such as IP addresses, for security.

Changes

If this policy changes, we’ll update the date on this page. If the change is significant, we’ll let you know in the app.
